This Privacy Policy describes how the app "AI HairCut Simulator: HairTry" and the HairTry website handle user information.
Web Hairstyle Try-On
The hairstyle try-on available on hair-try.com has the following data handling terms. These terms take precedence over the mobile-app descriptions below when they differ.
Data sent: The photo you select and the hairstyle option are sent only when you press the generation button. A short notice next to the button links to this policy.
Processing location and providers: The photo passes through Cloudflare's network to HairTry's servers in the United States, which use external AI processing providers, including Runware and Cloudflare.
Web result: The website does not store your photo or the result. The result is sent once to your browser; unless you save it, it is gone when you reload or leave the page. The button labeled “remove from this page” clears it from the page.
Private quality-review copies: HairTry's upstream image-processing systems may store private copies of the input, intermediate images, and output for quality and security review. These copies are not public. The Web result button does not delete these upstream review copies.
Deletion request: To request deletion of an upstream review copy, email aigahaku+hairtry@gmail.com with the approximate date and time of the try-on. HairTry will use that information only to locate and process the request.
Abuse prevention: To limit how often try-ons can be requested, Cloudflare uses your IP address as a rate-limit key for about one minute. HairTry does not store it.
Usage measurement: HairTry's servers keep no session identifier or event records for the website. Page visits and try-on steps (hairstyle and face-shape selection, photo selected, generation requested, result shown, result downloaded or shared, and app-store link clicked) are measured with Google Analytics, described below. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page loads.
Google Analytics: The HairTry website uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand page visits and the try-on steps listed above. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as the page URL, referrer, browser and device type, and approximate location derived from the IP address. Each try-on step is sent with the guide's test variant and traffic source (for example, Google search or direct). The photo, its filename, and the try-on result are never sent to Google Analytics. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services; you can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Cookie consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google Analytics does not set or read cookies unless you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner. Until then, and if you choose “Decline”, Google Analytics receives only cookieless signals without an identifier (Google Consent Mode). Your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage, not on HairTry's servers. You can change it at any time: Cookie settings. Choosing “Decline” also removes Google Analytics cookies from this site.
Other services: Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page loads without cookies, and some pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address.
Language preference: When you pick a language on the home page, a cookie named hairtry_lang remembers it for one year so the home page opens in that language. It is not used for analytics.
Web purchases — preparation
Web purchases are not yet available. If launched through Paddle, checkout and billing information will be handled by Paddle under its Privacy Policy. The purchase flow will explain the information required to activate mobile Pro access before collecting payment. HairTry does not currently offer a working web-to-app purchase activation flow.
The App collects information provided by users in order to deliver hairstyle simulation services.
1-1. Information Provided by Users
Face Data: Photos selected or captured by the user and loaded into the App, which contain facial images and facial features. Face data is used to provide hairstyle simulations and recommendations, with processing and storage described below.
Input / Settings Information: Simulation parameters such as selected hairstyle, hair color, and style (text, numeric, or selection data)
1-2. Information That May Be Automatically Collected
The App may collect the following information to the minimum extent necessary for quality improvement and bug fixes:
Device Information (e.g., OS version, device model, app version)

2. Purpose of Use
Information collected by the App is used for the following purposes:
Generating and providing hairstyle simulation images
Feature improvement, quality enhancement, bug fixes, and security improvement
Responding to inquiries (when necessary)
3. Disclosure to Third Parties (Use of Third-Party AI Services)
The App uses third-party AI services to generate hairstyle simulations.
Recipients: HairTry uses Google Gemini for AI recommendations and external image-processing services including Runware and Cloudflare for hairstyle generation. The provider used can vary with the feature and processing route.
Information Sent: Face data (photos containing facial images) selected by the user and settings for generation (hairstyle, hair color, etc.)
Purpose: Generating hairstyle previews, analyzing visible facial or hair features, and providing hairstyle recommendations. Processing may take place on HairTry servers in the United States and through the AI providers described above.
Timing of Transmission: A photo is sent only when you choose it and start a feature that processes it, such as generating a hairstyle. Nothing is sent while you only browse hairstyles.
4. Retention Period and Deletion
4-1. App results and private review copies
The App may keep generated results on your device for history, comparison, saving and sharing. Removing an image from the App does not remove a copy you exported to your photo library or another service.
HairTry's upstream image-processing systems may store private copies of input photos, intermediate images and generated results for quality and security review. Closing the App or deleting a local result does not automatically delete these upstream copies. We therefore do not promise that all face data disappears immediately after processing.
To request deletion or ask about retention of a particular generation, email aigahaku+hairtry@gmail.com with the approximate generation date and time. Please do not send another copy of your photo unless it is needed and requested to resolve your inquiry.
4-2. Third-party processing
Processing and retention by external providers are subject to the terms for the applicable service. HairTry does not make a blanket promise that every external provider retains nothing after responding. See the providers' current policies:
When you start using the App, it asks you to agree to the Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, which describe what is sent, to whom, and why.
You decide whether to use a photo. If you do not want a photo to be sent, do not start a feature with it; the hairstyle simulation will not run without one.
To ask about or request deletion of data from a past generation, contact us as described in section 4.
6. Security
The App implements reasonable security measures (such as encryption of communications and access controls) to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of collected information.
7. Use by Minors
If a minor uses the App, please obtain parental or guardian consent as necessary before use.
8. Changes to This Policy
The App may change this policy as necessary. If significant changes are made, we will announce them on this page or through other means.
Legal bases: processing photos for features you request is necessary to provide them (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR); Google Analytics cookies rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw in Cookie settings; review copies, security, cookieless measurement and font delivery rely on our legitimate interest in running and improving the service (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Transfers: data is processed in the United States and other countries by the providers named in this policy, under safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention: Google Analytics data is kept for 14 months; review copies as long as needed for quality and security review or until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights: you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing by emailing us, and you may complain to your local data protection authority.
